Professional and Thorough

We hired Terry to complete the framing and drywall for our basement development. He was prompt and accurate with the quotation that he provided for us. We also found that his prices were comparable to other contractors, if not, a little less. Ultimately, we decided to go with Terry as he took the time to answer all of our questions, and he was able to provide us with a reasonable start and finish date.

Terry’s work was professional and thorough. He followed the blue print that we provided for him as well as offered us suggestions, as he had the vision of what we were trying to accomplish in our basement. He would offer tips for the work we were trying to complete on our own. His friendly professional manner was appreciated. He always arrived on time, and at the end of the day, his work space was left neat and tidy. All of the scraps and waste were removed from the house.

We had a telepost which had to be moved and relocated. Terry was able to do this for us and have it passed by the inspector. Our finishing carpenter commented on how well the framing was done in that the door openings were perfect, making the carpenter’s job much easier for hanging doors. The drywall finishing was completed with minimal dust, and the walls look flawless. He also did a knockdown ceiling for us, which finished off the professional look of the basement that we wanted.

Quality Drywalling

We were extremely satisfied with the quality of both the drywalling of the basement and outside parging following the floods of June 2013. We could have had the work carried out earlier by others but decided to wait, having seen the workmanship Terry had performed at some of our neighbours’. The waiting was not in vain, and we finished up with a finished, drywalled basement that far outstripped the original builder’s drywalling quality. As with all renovation work, there were “unknowns/additional extras” that needed to be addressed. The estimates for this additional work, together with the work itself, were all carried out in a timely manner.

An additional bonus to us was that Terry was not the most expensive contractor from whom we requested estimates. He was, however, the most trustworthy of those that we contacted. All in all, he did not try to exploit the situation that many of us in the High River had suffered, following the floods.

Without question, I would recommend Terry, knowing that his workmanship is excellent and he has a willingness to work with the client to resolve any previously unforeseen issues. That, with his trustworthiness, makes him the ideal contractor.

Drywall Done Perfectly

We were referred to Sandstone Drywall & Stucco Ltd by one of our neighbours.

They provided us with an estimate to replace the drywall in our home and garage to the 4 foot level and stucco the exterior of our home due to damage from the High River flood.

The drywall was done perfectly, and upgrades such as arched doorways and rounded corners were also perfectly done. We felt the drywall would be a challenge in that it was cut to the 4 foot level due to the flood, but there were no visible seams after the work was done, and our television installer commented on how flat the wall was.

The exterior stucco was also completed with the same level of expertise. We have had numerous compliments from friends and neighbours on the attractiveness of our home and the craftsmanship of the work. We were impressed with the assistance we received in selecting colour, texture and material for the stucco.

Cleanup inside and out was done entirely to our satisfaction.

We would not hesitate to recommend Natalie and Terry to anyone. They are skilled, reliable and honest.

Terry at Sandstone Drywall & Stucco Ltd did an excellent drywall job for us. The job included installing the drywall, taping, mudding and sanding for our addition that required making the new work with the old. We continued to live in our home while the work was being done, and the dust control and cleanup were very well handled. The work was done with great care, and the finished result shows the attention to detail. Terry is a great contractor to work with and lets you know what’s happening and consults appropriately where that is needed.

Terry was very helpful in helping us select the finish we wanted and was very flexible in our choice of colour for the stucco. The work included doing the stucco both on a new addition and covering the old stucco on the existing section, and the finished job is seamless, and it is impossible to tell where the old section leaves off and the new begins. The work was done with superb care and attention, and the newly finished exterior looks wonderful. He consulted with us where appropriate as the job progressed.

Terry is a pleasure to work with, and we would highly recommend Sandstone Drywall & Stucco Ltd. His pricing is very competitive, and we couldn’t have gotten better value for our money.
